Concept of God
|
In Jainism there is no God or creator deity worshiped. Jains do believe in God, but not as a creator. God is thought of as a perfect being. He resides in a perfect, blissful state of Moksha. God possesses infinite power, vision, knowledge, and bliss. The 24 Tīrthaṅkaras are some of the most worshiped persons in the religion. Jains also have no dependency on a spiritual leader or higher power, which helps them live their own life and make more of their own decisions. Jainism is considered a transtheism which is a term referring to a system of thought or religious philosophy which is neither theistic, nor atheistic, but is beyond both of them. All these aspects combine to create a very unique way to look at God.
